Daniel W. Flis, M.D.

Dr. Flis earned a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction from the University of Washington, Seattle. He received his medical degree from Rutgers—Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society (Top 10%). Dr. Flis returned to Tufts University School of Medicine, where he completed his residency in Otolaryngology—Head & Neck Surgery. Dr. Flis performed a research fellowship at Tufts University School of Medicine, studying olfactory stem cell biology. He then completed his residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine. After which he was then accepted to a competitive fellowship in Head & Neck Oncologic Surgery at University of California, San Francisco.

After completing his fellowship with advanced training in head and neck oncologic surgery and skull base surgery, Dr. Flis joined Marin ENT. His expertise includes cancers of the head and neck, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery, transoral robotic surgery, and cutaneous malignancy. His extra training better equips him as he still has interests in all aspects of Otolaryngology, including pediatrics.

In addition to his medical training, Dr. Flis has extensive research experience. As a research fellow, he studied olfactory epithelium, which was later published. He has been the author of multiple medical articles and presented multiple studies at the top Society meetings in our field.
